Collaboration with Patricia Azevedo
As part of conversation with people in the bus square we collected questions – the reverse of a survey or questionnaire in which the incomer/expert asks the questions. A question can imply an attitude, opinion or statement. However, through being dislocated from their contexts the questions’ implications become more ambiguous. Removing them from answers also increases their openness. An audience has to guess at any underling attitude using its own imaginings, preconceptions as guide.
The questions were recorded directly onto small red audio units which moved between people, generating a sort of game. The units were later displayed in the square in an event which formed the material for this video.
